Bonnie, I’m a tad bit late responding. Do you remember the names of the owners of the rink? Do you have any photos? Which days did you skate at the Swank?
I skated at the Swank from 1955 till 1958 when I then enlisted in the U.S. Aio Force. Alos skated at Art’s in Harvey occationally. I have great memories during that time period. I skated the matinee and took lessons between the matinee and the evening session every week. I purchase my Chicage Custom Gold Medalist precision skates throough the Swank ($78.00) in 1957. They have been packed away ever since. If anyone out there knows of someone needing an excellant Vintage pair of size 9 1/2’s. Email me (pullll@charter.net) for my telephone number. My wife also has a pair of ladies size 8’s by Stylist Sure Grip. THESE ARE FREE to a good home. You would only pay the shipping. I can send detail Photo;s
I remember Ken and Corky. We skated the trio together. I also remember Jack Balke, the organist.
