I have been learning a lot about roller skating from boomers and beyond. I was talking to a roller skating enthusiast at Glenwood Roller Rink and she remembers the Grand March. But what’s really cool is that they do the Grand March at Markham Roller Rink on Thursday nights. In fact, I had a chance to do it and it was fun.
I’m going to try to get video clips the next time I go Markham. In the meantime, here’s a clip I found on YouTube. The roller skaters at Markham don’t do everything that’s in the video, but it gives a glimpse into how it’s done.
